When You Can’t Be There, Someone You Trust Can.

Premium, in‑person companionship for your parents in Kolkata — so they truly feel cared for, not just cared for ❤️.

Created for Indians settled in the US and Europe who want more than check‑ins — they want their parents’ days to feel full again.

No obligation. We simply understand your parents, and you understand how we work.

Why The Kindred

Not a Care Package. A Thoughtfully Built Relationship.🤝

Designed specifically for NRI families

We work with Indians whose parents live here while they live in the US, UK, and Europe. We understand the time zones, the coordination challenges, and the emotional guilt of distance — and we structure everything to reduce that emotional load for you.

Companions first, caregivers second

Our focus is not on medical tasks or supervision. It is on conversation, culture, and connection. Companions are carefully selected for emotional maturity, curiosity, and their ability to sit with a person, not simply sit beside them.

Serious about security and boundaries

Each companion is background‑verified and reference‑checked. Visits are scheduled, confirmed, and logged. Information about your parents’ home, routines, and finances is never shared, and boundaries are explicitly agreed upon with the family.

Culturally fluent, not generic

We match companions who speak your parents’ language — Bengali, Hindi, English, or Marwari — and who understand the reference points that make them feel at home: books, music, cinema, old Kolkata memories, Marwari family culture, or simply the art of good adda.

Limited families, high involvement

This is not a volume business. We work with a small number of families so that involvement remains high and the founder remains actively in the loop on every relationship.

Radical transparency with you

After every visit, you receive a warm, honest note — not sanitised “reports.” You know what they spoke about, how your parent seemed, and what made them smile that week.

Message from the founder
“This isn’t a business line for me. It’s a responsibility.”

I’m Rahul Rungta, founder of The Kindred Project. I grew up in Kolkata in a Marwari family, and I’ve spent my life around elders who don’t just want to be looked after — they want to be engaged, challenged, teased, and truly heard.

In friends’ families and my own extended family, I saw a pattern: children doing everything they could from abroad, yet feeling helpless about the one thing they could not arrange — genuine, trustworthy companionship for their parents, week after week.

The Kindred Project is my answer to that gap. I don’t think of this as launching a “service vertical.” I think of it as standing in for you, in the most human way possible, when you cannot physically be here.

I am personally involved in understanding each family we work with, carefully selecting companions, and ensuring we never compromise on culture, safety, or dignity. If we feel we are not the right fit for your parents, I will tell you that honestly.

If you’d like to explore this, I’d be happy to speak with you myself.

Admirable ability to listen

Working with Rahul was a masterclass in clarity and integrity. He is one of those rare professionals who not only listens intently but also ensures you feel truly understood. He is reliable to the core.
